Astor Crystal Clear
A transparent rim around a rose lens, so the only color anyone reads is the tint.
Against a clear front there is no dark outline arguing with the lens, which means the rose reads as rose and the frame reads as almost nothing. Astor Crystal Clear is the extra-wide outline: 55 mm eye, 18 mm bridge, 150 mm temples and a 147 mm front, with a 43 mm lens depth. That depth matters more here than the width. Forty-three millimeters of lens reaches below the pupil, and below the pupil is where a desk lamp, a phone screen and a reflective white table all send light upward into the eye.

The rose-band notch matches FL-41 Dark; the overall transmittance is higher. The full laboratory report for this tint is in finalization and will be published here. 100% UV400.
FL-41 DarkSevere photophobia, bright spacesAbove 570 nm the lens deliberately opens up, 44.2% there and 100% past 670 nm, so the rose band stays intact. Below that it does the work: 13.8% at 450 nm and 12.6% at 520 nm. Filter Category 2 at 41.1% luminous transmittance.

Fit
Will the Astor fit you?
This is an extra-wide fit: 147 mm across the front is well past a standard frame, so measure your own temple-to-temple width first. The 18 mm bridge sits open and high, which suits a flatter nose bridge. At 43 mm the lens is deep, and on a shorter face the lower rim can reach the cheek when you smile. Temples are 150 mm. If you currently wear a medium frame, expect this one to feel considerably larger.
