Astor is the widest outline we carry in black: 147 mm across the front, a 55 mm eye and 150 mm temples that keep going past where most frames stop. The 18 mm bridge opens the nose area rather than pinching it, and the 43 mm lens height is deep enough that the tinted field covers the whole direct line of sight instead of leaving a bright strip under the rim. On a broad face that matters, because evening light arriving below the lens is the part people notice. The bold square profile reads as presence rather than apology.
Two tints, two jobs
One tint for the wind-down, one for the dark
Amber lensScreens and lamps from late afternoonAt the melanopsin peak of 450 nm this lens passes 0.10%. Longer wavelengths open up quickly, 66.6% at 560 nm and 96.3% at 600 nm, so color stays usable. Filter Category 1 at 50.5% luminous transmittance means it is rated for outdoors as well as indoors.
Red lensDeep-night wear at homeNothing measurable passes between 380 and 560 nm. The lens opens at 5.8% at 570 nm and reaches 92.9% at 700 nm. At 14.9% luminous transmittance it is Filter Category 3 and belongs indoors.

Will the Astor fit you?
Astor is an extra-wide frame and only makes sense on a face measuring close to 147 mm between the temples. The 55 mm eye and 18 mm bridge give a generous nose opening, which helps if narrower frames leave marks. Lens height of 43 mm brings the lower rim down toward the cheekbone, so the tinted field covers more of your downward gaze. Temples are 150 mm, longer than standard. On a medium face this frame will slide.
