Grandeur Umber Brown
The smallest eye and the widest bridge in the Heritage group, in deep umber.
Grandeur inverts the usual proportions. Its eye is only 48 mm, the narrowest we list, while the bridge runs 23 mm, wider than any other frame here. The lenses therefore sit far apart on a 142 mm front, which produces a distinctive spaced look and puts almost no pressure on the sides of the nose. Lens height is 40 mm, so each lens is taller than it is wide. The front is hand-cut from Italian cellulose acetate and polished across more than sixty separate steps.

Amber lensEvening hours at home or outThe curve starts near zero, 0.10% at 450 nm, then lifts through 40.5% at 550 nm to 66.6% at 560 nm and 96.3% at 600 nm. Rated Filter Category 1 at 50.5% luminous transmittance, so it suits indoor and outdoor wear.
Red lensThe hour before sleepThe blue and green bands are gone outright, with zero measured transmission from 380 to 560 nm. What gets through is long-wavelength, 49.7% at 600 nm and 92.9% at 700 nm, with 100% UV protection (UV400).

Will the Grandeur fit you?
Grandeur measures 142 mm across the front, a roomy medium. The defining number is the 23 mm bridge, the widest here, which suits a broad or flat nose bridge and will sit too low on a narrow one. The 48 mm eye is the smallest in the range, so each lens is compact side to side while still 40 mm deep. Temples are 148 mm, long, which suits a head that is deep from front to back.
