Artisan Espresso Brown
A dark espresso rectangle with the kind of thickness in the rim that only cut acetate gives you.
Artisan is the most conventional rectangle in the Heritage Series and the easiest to place on a face. Espresso Brown is a near-black brown that warms up in daylight, cut from Italian cellulose acetate and polished across more than sixty separate steps so the rim holds a clean edge all the way round. At 51 mm eye, 20 mm bridge and a 141 mm front, it lands in the middle of the medium band and reads as normal, everyday eyewear. The 41 mm aperture places the tinted lens right across your working field, which is what you want when fluorescent light sensitivity makes a strip-lit room hard to sit in.

- 7.9% measured transmission at 420 nm and 13.8% at 450 nm - the blue band is attenuated across its width rather than cut
- 12.6% at 520 nm - the green band is attenuated in the same pass
- 44.2% at 570 nm rising to 100% above 670 nm - the rose band is deliberately preserved
- Luminous transmittance 41.1%, Filter Category 2
- 100% UV protection (UV400)

Take the glasses you wear now and read the three numbers inside the arm: eye size, bridge, temple length. Artisan is 51-20-145. The 141 mm front is close to the middle of every range we offer, which is why this frame fits the widest variety of adult faces, roughly 136 to 145 mm across. The 20 mm bridge keeps the lenses apart and suits most nose widths. If you are unsure of your size and want a low-risk shape, this is the one to try first.
