A cool gunmetal-toned front that reads closer to hardware than to eyewear.

Gunmetal is a gray-black with a metallic cast to it, and on a rectangular front it gives the frame a machined look rather than a molded one. That cool tone is worth knowing about before you order, because it sets itself against a warm yellow lens instead of blending with it; the tint stays visibly a lens. The geometry is compact and even: 49 mm lenses, a 20 mm bridge and a 139 mm front, with 40 mm of depth. Those proportions suit somebody who moves between a monitor, a laptop and a phone through the day, since a shallower frame would leave the downward glance outside the tinted area.

Will the Chrono fit you?

This is a medium frame with a narrow-ish 139 mm front, so measure across your own temples before committing. The 49 mm lens paired with a 20 mm bridge gives a standard nose opening, neither tight nor floating. At 40 mm the lens height is conventional, deep enough to cover a downward glance at a phone without the rim resting on the cheek. Temples of 145 mm are the common length and should need little adjustment.
