Cluno
A plain rectangle cut from acetate and finished until the edges go soft.
Cluno belongs to The Heritage Series, which means the front is hand-cut from a solid block of Italian cellulose acetate and polished across more than sixty separate steps. You feel that in the rim edges, which are rounded rather than sharp. The shape itself is a straightforward rectangle, 52 mm eye, 19 mm bridge, 141 mm temples, sitting on a 145 mm front. That front width puts it in the wide band, and the 40 mm lens height keeps the tinted area broad enough to cover the working line of sight.

Amber lensEvening hours, indoors or outTransmission sits at 0.10% at 450 nm, the melanopsin peak, and at 0.48% at 500 nm. By 600 nm the lens is passing 96.3%, which is why faces and screens still look like themselves. Luminous transmittance 50.5%, Filter Category 1.
Red lensThe last indoor hourBlue and green are removed entirely across 380 to 560 nm. Transmission resumes at 570 nm with 5.8%, hits 49.7% at 600 nm and 92.9% at 700 nm. Luminous transmittance is 14.9%.

Fit
Will the Cluno fit you?
Cluno is a wide frame at 145 mm across the front, so it suits broader temples rather than average ones. The 19 mm bridge is roomy against a 52 mm eye and keeps the nose fit relaxed. A 40 mm lens height gives good coverage below the pupil while staying clear of the cheek on most faces. Temples are 141 mm, slightly short, which pairs well with a wide but not long head shape.
