Regent in black is the same wide flat-top square, 55-17-140 on a 141 mm front, and the solid rim does something the clear version cannot: it stops light at the edge as well as through the lens. A dark rim absorbs what arrives from the side rather than passing it into the tinted field. With 45 mm of lens depth below a level top rim, the covered area runs from just under the brow to below the pupil. Temples are 140 mm, shorter than most wide frames, which keeps the arms from overshooting the ear.

FL-41 DarkPeak-brightness daysRather than erase blue, this lens holds it to 7.9% at 420 nm and 13.8% at 450 nm, taking green to 12.6% at 520 nm on the same pass. The rose band is preserved on purpose, 44.2% at 570 nm rising to full transmission above 670 nm.

Fit
Will the Regent fit you?
Regent Jet Black is a wide fit at 141 mm, sitting between medium frames and extra-wide ones. The 55 mm eye is large while the 17 mm bridge stays narrow, which holds the frame up rather than letting it settle. At 45 mm the lens is deep, so measure brow to cheekbone if your face is short. Temples run 140 mm, relatively short for a frame this wide, and suit a narrower head than Astor requires.
