The cat eye stripped back to a single color and a clean line.
In black, the lifted outer corner of the Riviera shape is the only thing doing the talking. Nothing about the geometry changes: a 50 mm eye, a 19 mm bridge that spaces the lenses wide, 145 mm temples and a 135 mm front. Lens depth stays at 33 mm. Small frames like this are the ones people actually keep on through a whole evening, because there is very little of them resting anywhere. The trade is coverage, since a shallow lens leaves more of your lower field unfiltered when you look down.

Amber lensFrom sundown, indoors and outMeasured transmission at 450 nm, the melanopsin peak, is 0.10%. From 0.48% at 500 nm the curve climbs to 40.5% at 550 nm, so part of the green band is preserved. Luminous transmittance is 50.5%, Filter Category 1, rated for indoor and outdoor use.
Red lensLast hour at homeNothing measurable passes between 380 and 560 nm. The lens opens at 5.8% at 570 nm and reaches 92.9% at 700 nm. At 14.9% luminous transmittance it is Filter Category 3 and belongs indoors.

Will the Riviera fit you?
The 135 mm front puts Riviera Jet Black in the medium band, though the small 50 mm eye makes it look narrower than that number suggests. A 19 mm bridge is on the wide side and works best with a broader nose bridge. With only 33 mm of lens height, expect a high tinted field and plenty of open space beneath the rim. Temples are 145 mm. Larger faces will find this one undersized rather than merely small.
